Hello! I'm glad you stopped by my site! My name is Kendra and I'm a children’s book author with a professional background in education, psychology, and writing instruction. Drawing from my experience in social-emotional learning (SEL), I create books that help young readers understand and manage their emotions in healthy, empowering ways.

After earning a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with a concentration in educational psychology, I began exploring ways to connect with students through storytelling. This journey led me to write books that encourage children to explore their feelings and develop emotional resilience.

My debut title, Where’s Poppi? (2021), addresses grief through the eyes of my son who was coping with the loss of his grandfather. Wild-Haired Poet (2023) explores SEL themes such as self-management and responsible decision-making. Jordi’s Amazing Day (2025) invites children to become storytellers, offering a wordless picture book experience that sparks imagination and personal expression.

I enjoy capturing funny and poignant moments by writing about real life experiences. When not writing, I love vacationing anywhere the water is blue and being the organizer and referee of board games with my highly competitive family.
